EU Pig Prices: Shrinking Supply vs. Weak Demand - Quotations Hit the Ceiling


On the European pigs-mature-for-slaughter market, a large part of the EU member countries reported on unchanged quotations. In Spain, the pigs-for-slaughter quotation continues its moderate price increase. Overall, the European pork market is currently very quiet. While holidaymakers in the Mediterranean regions, for example, are creating additional demand, consumption is lower in other parts of Europe. As a result, and due to holidaying staff, some farms now adjust production.
