EU Pig Prices: Markets in Europe Develop Unevenly - Strongest Price Decline in Germany

The European pigs-mature-for-slaughter market is showing a very inconsistent picture in the current week of slaughter. Prices ranged from plus 1 cent in France to unchanged to minus 15 cents in Germany. Meat sales are stagnating in Europe, which by a majority is taken as an explanation for the partly strong price drops. The supply of live animals was piling up in several countries. Temperatures in the past few weeks were obviously too cool for lavish barbecuing activities. The market has been waiting in vain for impulse so far.
