There is movement in the European pigs-mature-for-slaughter market. The prices for pigs ready for slaughter are rising moderately to significantly in many EU member countries. Essentially, the driving forces are a manageable live-animals’ supply and the prospect of an increase in demand for meat in the near future due to the (partial) opening of the catering trade and of barbecue activities.
