Internet pig market with trial offer – more than 38,000 pigs auctioned off

Mr Bernhard Bonekamp, chairman of the Internet Schweinebörse Nordwest AG (north-west German internet pig market) informed the press that from now on the members of the ISN (Interessengemeinschaft der Schweinehalter Nord-Westdeutschland e. V.; community of interest of the pig keepers in north-west Germany) are able to use the new trial offer of the internet pig market. By this, pigs can be auctioned off on a trial basis. Those farmers who are interested in it must only have their pigs registered under telephone + 49 – (0) 5491 – 9665 – 15, where extensive advise is given regarding the auction.

Referring to experiences that were made during the past months, Mr Bonekamp recommends to make offers at fixed prices to the internet pig market preferably on Friday morning, so that market demands may be met the best possible way. According to Mr Bonekamp, the public interest in the auctioning results has increased considerably. In order to receive first hand results, one would only have to be registered under www.isn-schweineboerse.de . Then, one would receive the market newsletter via e-mail right after the auction has closed. This registration would completely be left without obligation whatsoever.

Altogether, Mr Bonekamp was very satisfied with the development of this trading place. More than 38,000 pigs have already been auctioned off after the starting of the internet pig market. Out of those, about 5,500 pigs came from the Netherlands. As a rule, the prices that were achieved were higher than those of the so-called north-west price. In May 2002, more than 1,000 pigs could even be auctioned off during one single auction. The Dutch shareholders, together with their chairman Mr Bert Hopman, are very satisfied with this development, too.
